What do I do if my screen is frozen?

Handling a Frozen Screen

If your screen is frozen:

  1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete (Windows) or Command+Option+Escape (macOS) to open Task Manager or Force Quit.
  2. End the unresponsive application.
  3. If that doesn’t work, restart your computer by holding the power button for 10 seconds.
  4. After restarting, check for updates or conflicting software.

If the issue recurs, note the application or task causing the freeze and contact IT.
